I just love being able to buy in bulk. I just love being able to buy in bulk. The marzipan i made with this came out smooth and even, tasted great and did not let up a lot of oil. Having seen a lot of press recently regarding the fact that some companies are adding peanuts to ground almonds, i would be happy with some form of certification to prove that this product is pure almond, as there is nothing to state such and i use the marzipan for weding and other celebration cakes.
I use a lot of ground almonds, both in cakes and amaretti biscuits. I have taken to buying in this way as it is much more convenient and i know that when i have reached the half way point i will re-order.
Similar quality ground almonds in the supermarkets at a better price per kg and usually has a year ‘best. You can find similar quality ground almonds in the supermarkets at a better price per kg and usually has a year ‘best before’ so not really impressed with only having two months date on this item. Overall value for suma quality and short dates scores average in my book compared with what’s on offer at your supermarket. Here are the specifications for the Suma Ground Almonds 1 kg:
- Almonds have a very high calcium content
- Ground almonds have a lovely nutty flavour
- Suitable for many purposes, from baking to adding to tagines
- A wholefoood from Suma, an ethical worker’s cooperative
- Packed in an environment which also handles nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, gluten, soya, milk and sulphured fruits
Good price, however you might want to run these. Good price, however you might want to run these through the food processor as the majority of the contents won’t go through a sieve (this kills the macaron).
Very fine ground powder and great price. Very good for making almond spread or almond milk. It saves you a lot of work and time to do your grinding with a food processor.
Reviews from purchasers :
- A good product !
- Normally much more expensive
- First rate ground almons
Great for baking with – fine enough to replace normal flour in most cake-ish recipes. Does exactly what it was meant to, and better than the stuff i got previously from a supermarket.
Fab – makes delicious banana walnut muffins. Went on a paleo template diet. Being wheat intolerant anyway, i’ve struggled sometimes to find alternatives to wheat flour. I have no idea how i’d never come across coconut or almond flour before.
