I highly recommend this product to anyone trying to give up sugar. I am on a low-carb-high-fat (lchf) lifestyle, a ketogenic diet to be exact, therefore sugar and all things containing sugar are banned from my diet. I had a really sweet tooth before xylitol and thought nothing would satisfy my desire for sweet things, especially desserts. There is no strange aftertaste (like you get with stevia) and it really does taste like sugar, just not as sweet. I have used it in baking low carb cakes, sprinkled over berries and also in low-carb ice cream. I know i’ll be using this sweetener for the rest of my life and therefore would highly recommend it to anyone trying to give up sugar.

I am pleased with the service, and also the product, which is used in a diet for my diabetic husband. It replaces granulated sugar without staying in the blood stream and has kept the sugar levels on a manageable course. The product came speedily and was reasonably priced when compared to the local health food store.

Replacement for sugar but a little expensive, does not effect the teeth. No taste in coffee etc and no one knew i was using it in their drinks but do not know what it is like in cooking.

    Very useful product when you want or have to avoid sugar. I use it on breakfast cereal, berries and it is most useful when making cakes for a diabetes sufferer.

    It tastes good and doesn’t have much after taste. Maybe a bit of coolness but it’s alright. The first time i tried it i had upset stomach but it got better later on. Anyway i try to not over use it.

      1. Tasted nice but had a very alarming side effect for me. . I really wanted to eat after hearing rave reviews about it being excellent for teeth. But i did have an alarming reaction with this. Something called pollen food syndrome. Afterwards on reading webmd i discovered that those with hayfever/asthma/rhinitis can have this reaction. Xylitol can be made from birch bark (presumably it has birch pollen on it too) which, when eaten alongside certain fruits can cause the syndrome. I had a mouth ulcer at the time so wonder if this worsened the situation.

    It’s early days but so far so good. I’ve been struggling to find something to replace sugar. I need to lose weight and lots of it but until now haven’t been able to get past reducing the amount of sugar in tea and coffee any further than one teaspoon. Everyother alternative i could taste and didn’t like. It’s name is ridiculous and should be changed, i can’t say it or remember it, so it fails from that point of view, but it works as far as making things less bitter. It’s good, it costs too much and it needs someone to rebrand it.

Took me a while – maybe 2 weeks – to get used to the taste vs brown sugar that i was used to using in my coffee. After that i find sugar too sweet now when i go back to it if i’m at starbucks, costa etc. Tastes a bit like sugar “lite”. No bitter aftertaste like some other sweeteners.
