Requires all the pressure out of covering a cake with sigarpaste. Also truly worth looking at their films on youtube. So quick, and also keeps your icing so thoroughly clean no hazard of if everything. Crew with squires sugarpaste and it is really a match built in heaven.

Only wish i had have brought 1 sooner. Fab creation, takes the really hard work out of icing cakes. Effortlessly cleaned and saved far too.

I love this mat primarily for incredibly big sheets of sugarpaste. I adore this mat primarily for extremely big sheets of sugarpaste. Good piece of kitchen area equipment if you bake and ice cakes. Simple to use, straightforward to store and will not know how i managed before. Perfectly packaged and speedy supply.

Masking cakes is now a breeze. I am new to cake making and this is in all probability just one of the very best buys i have built. It is huge so unable to use on my kitchen worktops so i use it on my table as an alternative as it is so hygenic to use as the fodant is rolled out in between the two sheets. Amazing mat would not be with out it.

I consider i like my new invest in. I have been eyeing up this products for some time now – and lastly taken the plunge. It is far more expensive, but i hope it will be an expense i have been pleased to make in several years to comei have only applied the mat the moment so much so i’m hoping i will improve with practise. I adore the simple fact that there are markings on the mat to give you an indicator of size you require to roll the fondant out to – extremely helpful. I also like that you can roll the fondant out devoid of touching it (especially fantastic when you have eager very little kinds wanting to have a go), and move the mat about to concentrate on other parts or carry it and verify the fondant has been rolled evenly. Most importantly, as it can be been rolled thinner than regular you can also use the mat to situation the icing above the cake quite effortlessly, as extended as you take your time to peel the mat from the fondant once its on the cake. It was more challenging to roll more than plastic with a fondant roller, than rolling immediately on the fondant – rightly or wrongly i uncovered it a lot easier to push the fondant at periods with the rolling pin as perfectly as rolling. I am hoping my technique will make improvements to with apply. Definitely a thumbs up from me – so significantly.

    1. I am elderly and have arthritis i wanted to make and ice a christening cake for my great granddaughter it had to be a big two tier cake. With help i made the cakes then wondered how on earth i could roll out enough icing to cover them. The mat was the answer after viewing the short video of how to use it a few times i worded it and it saved the day.I have no hesitation in recommending the mat to all home cake bakers it will save you time and stress.

Takes a fair bit of work to roll out the icing but getting the icing on to the cake is simplicity itself. Well worth watching the instruction video before using though not essential. She does give a few good tips.

  14. I like it but i don’t love it. . I have only given 4 stars for this product for a few reasons. One, it is expensive for what it is, two the fondant doesn’t “just drop off with the weight” as mentioned in the video’s and three, the stupid thing constantly moves around on the work surface which is very annoying. I bought it in conjunction with the “kingpin”. I do a lot of cake making, mostly novelty cakes using fondants so when i found this product and watch the tutorials on it i was thinking it would be a great addition to my growing collection of helpful gadgets. As much as i like it, it keeps the fondant moist, you can roll it thinner, and the markings come in handy i find it falls down in some areas. The bottom sheet does not have a “non-slip” to it, so on a granite work surface (an probably others too) it moves around constantly – the trouble is, if you put a piece of non slip under it, it then gets the “ridges” from the non-slip material, which is no good for getting a smooth rolled fondant. I also found it hard to clean, and the fondant (especially when rolled thinner) doesn’t “fall” from the sheet onto the cake in a beautiful smooth way as indicated on the video, you have to carefully and consistently prise it from the sheet, it still stretches and occasionally splitshowever, on the plus side, it is a good medium for rolling out the fondant and preventing drying out. I do think the price could be lower for what it is.
