Shipton Mill Organic Strong Flour 2 : Excellent quality flour!

Very good bread flour at good price.

Excellent product, very good package, strong and secure and completely recyclable.

Makes wonderful organic bread. Here are the specifications for the Shipton Mill Organic Strong Flour 2:

  • White strong organic flour
  • Milled fine stone ground flour
  • Ideally suited for breads which have a long fermentation process
  • Naturally contains gluten.

Previously (for some years) i used the bacheldre mill strong white for use in my panasonic bread machine. However, for some reason it was unavailable when my subscribe and save order was due to be despatched. Although extremely reluctant to move to another flour, i had no choice, so i opted for this brand and am so glad i did. The first loaf out of the pan was so much lighter than one made with the other flour. However, before i left this review, i made 5 loaves, just in case the first was a fluke, but, all the loaves have turned out the same and i can’t say that i could taste a difference. Needless to say, i will now be using this flour in the future and have also signed up on subscribe and save for the shipton mill stoneground strong flour and will review next month. Just one other (small) plus, the bags are a lot easier to manage.

Wonder ful have used it for a year or two.

Makes really good bread, reliable and strong white flour. . Makes really good chiabata and other open white type of breads. Also great for french type bread and dinner rolls. Good to mix with rye or other flours for a lighter loaf. This has become a regular purchase for me and wouldn’t now want to be without it now.

  5. Good flour for slowish bread. Great flavoursome white flour for bead making. Ideal for 3-4 hour cycles rather than quick bread or short cycles on machines.

    Good bread flour, nice big bags, more convenient than a sack.
    1. Bought this flour due too a friend recommend it to me, i found it hard to begin with doesn’t need as much water as my previous flour but once i cut the the water the bread came out amazingly good. I’ve made sourdough loafs for the family i was very happy with this type of flour. I’ll put a photo on of my last bread with this flour.

    Bought this flour due too a friend recommend it to me, i found it hard to begin with doesn’t need as much water as my previous flour but once i cut the the water the bread came out amazingly good. I’ve made sourdough loafs for the family i was very happy with this type of flour. I’ll put a photo on of my last bread with this flour.
    1. Shipton mill is rightly recognised as a top quality bread flour. Unfortunately it is not readily available at local supermarkets. Solution, buy it in small bulk quantities directly from the mill via amazon.

    1. I have made a few different types of bread with this including no knead (long fermentation) and pullman tin loafs with a kitchen mixer. It gives very consistent results and i find it easy to work with. In a blind taste test my family prefer bread made with this four, keeping up with demand is the only problem.

    Eat the result with confidence. You may be able to cut costs on other food items, but i have realised that it is important to buy the best flour that you can afford. I have also been using shipton mill wholemeal flour recently, and have certainly noticed the positive difference from the cheaper flour from a discount store. Buy this product and know that you are getting some of the best around.
