Shipton Mill Organic Flour 1 kg, Excellent quality

I regularly buy shipton mill as i love the quality. I bake cakes from the normal one and buy the strong for my breads.

Great flour, poor description by amazon. Packaging is paper and the description of the flour is misleading – if you look at the shipton mill website you can see ‘it is a blend of the rare english wheat, maris widgeon combined with top quality strong organic canadian flour to give outstanding baking results. ‘please take more care amazon.

I recently changed the brand of flour i had been using to try shipton mill’s. I bake a lot, but i really didn’t believe that i would be able to taste the difference in one flour over another. The added flavour that comes from using a great quality flour is evident from the first bite. I have just made the best tasting french bread i have ever made using this flour (and far, far better than any that i have ever bought). I have bought most of the flours that they produce now, and would not go back to my old flours. If you spend a lot of time and effort making cakes and breads you won’t regret buying shipton mill’s flour.

Great quality and very white. It says it is unbleached which i hope is true and the floor is so white due to the type of the grains and the storage conditions.

    Was a bacheldre fan (still am) but they had a problem & were unavailable to buy for a few weeks on amazon so switched to shipton mill. I now have it on subscribe & save.

    First point to note that this is identical to shipton mill strong white bread flour, just repackaged into smaller bags with a different label (only they know why). It is a blend which includes canadian strong flour, i. High gluten content and as you would expect it rises very well. As for flavour, shipton mill rates it as exceptional (as they would i suppose) but we prefer, by some considerable margin, bacheldre watermill bread flour. Their white flour is only slightly paler than their wholemeal meaning that all the flavour hasn’t been ground and sieved out of it and we find that loaves made with a mix of becheldre wholemeal and white gives the bread a delectable nutty flavour. Of course it is all a matter of taste but if you haven’t tried shipton mill before i would urge caution before buying 10 bags – and if you are wondering why, having said that, we went ahead and brought 10 bags. Well, in retrospect so are we and are putting down to a sudden rush of blood to the head.
