Isabels Brazilian Flavours Gluten and Wheat Free Pizza Mix 300 g : Isabel’s Brazilian Flavours Gluten and Wheat Free Pizza Mix 300g

Totally love these – these are fun and easy to make and fatastic tasting for healthy pizza. Expensive but worth the money for a wheatfree pizza.

I checked out a number of online gluten free pizza base recipes which i felt had far too many ingredients to tackle. Either that or the pictures didn’t look quite like the base i was hoping for. After searching around i found isabels and decided to take the plunge on the strength of the good reviews. I have to say that we were amazed at how well the base came out. We chose to put the ingredients on (mozzarella, basil, cherry tomato, tomato puree, artichoke) without baking the base first. We used just one 150gm pack and halved the water and olive oil along with a small egg to make a 12′ base. Just about to get stocked up on these as they will become a permanent fixture in the weekly menu list.

We eat a mostly paleo diet which is satisfying for the most part but i love pizza with an intense and undying passion. I ordered 4 boxes of this thinking it was 1 pizza per box so when enough mix for 16 pizzas arrived i was really hoping that we would like them. Lucky for us, this dough is super tasty. Now the problem is trying to not eat 14 pizzas this week =). Here are the specifications for the Isabels Brazilian Flavours Gluten and Wheat Free Pizza Mix 300 g:

  • Gluten and wheat free pizza mix
  • Create delicious thin crust neapolitan style pizzas
  • Gluten and wheat free

Takes practice to roll it out thin enough. One of the better gluten free pizza bases, but if you dont roll it wafer thin, its chewy and unpleasant.

Excellent pizza base / great as pita / ‘cornish pasty’. It took some practice and i think i got it perfect. I use for pizza, like a ‘pitta bread’ for a cheese steak sandwich. I use it like a ‘naan’ to eat curry with. I even use it to make a pie, a chicken curry pie, beef curry pie (curry must be cooked dry), and steak and kidney pie. The pies are baked in giles and posner pie maker bought here in amazon. Pies not crispy and crusty like if u use short crust pastry, more chewy like a calzone or pizza style ‘cornish pasty’ but me hubby loves it. For pizza, 2 bags in a box, i usually bake 1 bag per time. 2 pizzas, each about 8′ dia and 5mm or less thick.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Retired food manufacturer.
  • Best GF pizza base by far
  • Wheat Free Pizza base

This has a real taste of pizza and the nearest to the genuine article. Easy to mix, a bit tough to roll out but tastes heavenly, just like the dough balls. Would recommend it to everyone.

Everyone loves pizzas made with this mix even gluten lovers. Will be ordering more soon to keep my supplies at th ready.

  1. Retired food manufacturer. . This is a great product albeit expensive as it’s main ingredient is not expensive but not readily available in store over here. None of the major supermarkets near me stock this any more although morrisons still list it so this is the best way to obtain it. When not cooking this in my pizza oven outside i cook it on a mesh splatter guard and cook at 200c. For 5 mins then 165 / 170 until it looks right, if you find the base is still not crispy enough simply slide on to an old oven sheet over a low hob heat but lift the edge constantly to check its progress, it should only take a couple of minutes.

By far the best gf pizza base mix i’ve found. Needs pre cooking prior to putting topping on but as long as instructions are followed you get a nice crispy but chewy pizza that’s nothing like the cardboard ones from other brands.

    1. Best wheat free pizza base ever . Now let’s be honest when we try these kind of things we aren’t really expecting much are we ?. Well the same went for this pizza base mix. I’m fairly new to wheat free living and i struggle because bread was my very good friend. My very best friend was pasta. I came across an article about cassava flour which in turn led me to this product. . Oh happy day this is fantastic. I just finished eating my first pizza made using this mix, it will definitely not be the last.

I love this mix, i have a young family and it’s horrible for me to sit on the sidelines eating a cardboard pizza while everyone else tucks into a nice pizza. This is easy to make and there is no rising needed, just mix the sachets with water, an egg and some oil, kneed it for a few minutes, divide into balls and then roll out. I can now enjoy these with my girls any time and they freeze well too.

Hard to get right initially, there is a fine line between not enough water and a bit too much, but once you master it, the results are great. Well worth persevering; one of the nicer gluten free pizzas i’ve had.
