Totally love these – these are fun and easy to make and fatastic tasting for healthy pizza. Expensive but worth the money for a wheatfree pizza.
I checked out a number of online gluten free pizza base recipes which i felt had far too many ingredients to tackle. Either that or the pictures didn’t look quite like the base i was hoping for. After searching around i found isabels and decided to take the plunge on the strength of the good reviews. I have to say that we were amazed at how well the base came out. We chose to put the ingredients on (mozzarella, basil, cherry tomato, tomato puree, artichoke) without baking the base first. We used just one 150gm pack and halved the water and olive oil along with a small egg to make a 12′ base. Just about to get stocked up on these as they will become a permanent fixture in the weekly menu list.
We eat a mostly paleo diet which is satisfying for the most part but i love pizza with an intense and undying passion. I ordered 4 boxes of this thinking it was 1 pizza per box so when enough mix for 16 pizzas arrived i was really hoping that we would like them. Lucky for us, this dough is super tasty. Now the problem is trying to not eat 14 pizzas this week =). Here are the specifications for the Isabels Brazilian Flavours Gluten and Wheat Free Pizza Mix 300 g:
- Gluten and wheat free pizza mix
- Create delicious thin crust neapolitan style pizzas
- Gluten and wheat free
Takes practice to roll it out thin enough. One of the better gluten free pizza bases, but if you dont roll it wafer thin, its chewy and unpleasant.
Excellent pizza base / great as pita / ‘cornish pasty’. It took some practice and i think i got it perfect. I use for pizza, like a ‘pitta bread’ for a cheese steak sandwich. I use it like a ‘naan’ to eat curry with. I even use it to make a pie, a chicken curry pie, beef curry pie (curry must be cooked dry), and steak and kidney pie. The pies are baked in giles and posner pie maker bought here in amazon. Pies not crispy and crusty like if u use short crust pastry, more chewy like a calzone or pizza style ‘cornish pasty’ but me hubby loves it. For pizza, 2 bags in a box, i usually bake 1 bag per time. 2 pizzas, each about 8′ dia and 5mm or less thick.
