Glad to have found this here because it can’t be found in local shops. I tested this against another yeast – i’ll never let myself run out of doves farm quick yeast is all i can say. For me this ticked all the boxes: reliable – tick – over the weekend i made 4 loaves of bread, three pizza doughs, and three dozen rolls – all gluten free and except for the 2 loaves of bread we inhaled for taste-testing, everything is in the freezer for future use. It caused all my baked goods to rise properly, smelled heavenly during baking, and all my baking tasted great – so that’s all the yeast requirement boxes ticked. Onto the subscribe and save it goesi’m using small heavy-duty zip-grip bag for the opened packet – squeezed out the excess air and zipped. This morning the seal is holding but i’m thinking i’m going to use the vacuum sealer on this to be completely sure opened sachets stay fresh between baking sessions.
I have been using bread makers at home for some years now and this is my favourite yeast. Some well known sources have for some reason stopped stocking this product, so i always get mine from lakeland or similar,or by e-mail. I bake bread every other day and a packet of doves yeast lasts me about 10-12 week.
Great quality yeast for bread maker or hand baking. . This is great value for an entire 8 pack display box of the yeast. This is now my regular yeast for my bread machine and also for oven baking or making pizza dough. Buying in this quantity effectively halves the price. Best to decant each packet into an airtight container as you need it and the yeast will then stay active for about 2 months. If buying this quantity, make sure you’ll get through it in the 2 year expiry date, (the yeast should still work after this date but might become less active)a great product, a great price.
Does the job with great results. I have recently started baking all our bread from scratch, rather than buying, as a means of saving money. In order to do this we needed to source the ingredients in bulk from somewhere convenient. After much searching around i stumbled across doves farm quick yeast. I hadn’t heard of it before and i was slightly concerned about trying something new, since the old yeast was working fun, however, my mum said that’s what she uses so gave me a pack to sample. My bread rises very well with this yeast and feels really light and stretchy when i’m kneading it. Having a whole packet, rather than sachets, means that it lasts much longer but also you can tailor exactly how much you want to use. I always find that sachets are ok if you’re doing everything normal but not so good if you’re multiplying by 1. This quick yeast means that you don’t have to pre-soak it, it’s just a case of adding it to the mixture and it can easily be used in a bread machine as well. Buying in bulk has greatly reduced our costs and, at time of purchase, this was by far the cheapest means of buying it. The product itself is excellent and well worth a try.
Doves Farm Quick Yeast 125 g (Pack of 8) : Product arrived in a short time – considering it was being delivered to rural south west coast of ireland. The packaging is much better than using sachets, and the most important bit, the baking, this yeast produced fantastic bread, danish pastries and pitta – would thoroughly recommend it to any fellow bakers.
